2000 Honda Civic loud clicking sound when accelerating

After noticing that my car was in D3 I shifted it to D4 as soon as I did I started hearing a loud clicking noise when I stepped on the gas. It only lasts a few seconds then it stops. I am noticing a little lose of power. What could this be

Hi agmoadeeb,

Clicking noise during acceleration could be due to engine pinging, bad con-rod bearings or valve noise.

You need to locate the source of the noise to understand what could be wrong.
