I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX with 48,000 miles. The car only has 48,000 miles, but is 10 years old. The power steering/alternator belt looks good, no cracks. ***When should I replace the Timing Belt? Also, how long do the engine belts, radiator hoses, and heater hoses on this vehicle normally last?

Hello -

I didn't see it but spark plugs and transmission fluid should be replaced at 30,000 and every 30,000 after that.

Coolant flushed and changed at 45,000

At 60,000 the timing belt shows to be replaced and every 60,000 afterwards.

The hoses and belt replacement depend on the wear. The manual says to inspect every 15,000 miles.

It is really hard to say how long things will last as they may have a factor defect or a weak spot and it come apart. You can really only continue to inpect these items and look for any wear or damage.

Now what I do is if I say, have to replace the water pump... Then all coolant hoses get replaced. I am there, the system is drained, things are already disconnected...I just do that... Preventative maintenance.

Hope this helps.

Hello -

Also, it looks like you may have some recalls on your vehicle. The dealer may fix these for free. Please contact the dealer service department, give them the VIN number of your car and have them check on these to see if they apply to you.
