Air Conditioning problem
2000 Honda Civic 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 150k miles

i Have a 2000 Honda Civic in the shop that has little to no low side ac pressure and that drops even lower at a higher rmp. I replaced the compersser and added the proper charge of 134 and pag oil but the problem is still there, can you give me some pointers as where to look next.

Hi firemandavidk,

Here are possible causes.

If there are excessive bubbles in sight glass and the condenser is not hot :
Insufficient refrigerant.

Check for leaks and charge as required.

If expansion valve is not frosted and low pressure line is not cold. Low pressure indicates vacumn :
Frozen expansion valve or faulty expansion valve.

Replace the expansion valve.

If discharge temperature is low and the air flow from vents are restricted.
Frozen evaporator.

Run the fan with compressor off and check the capillary tubes.

If expansion valve is frosted :
Clogged expansion valve.

Clean or replace.

If the receiver drier is cool (shold be warm during operation) :
Clogged receiver drier.

Replace.
