Engine Mechanical problem
1999 Honda Civic 4 cyl Automatic 125000 miles

Hi, I have 99 Honda civic LX (Japan) which has 124xxx miles on it. Strange sound comes from the engine timing belt side. I recently purchased it and I think timing belt and all other belts never were changed. Is it possible that they last that long? Mechanic told me that he will change water pump, timing belt and other three belts for $500 parts included. Is it good deal? These coming weekends I need to drive 1200 miles to Washington state from CA and I am worried about the timing belt..Please help

Hi there, if the belt has never been changed get it done now, the noise may be the pump or timing belt idler pulley bearings, as for price, as i am in Australia i am unsure as to your local costs, but a second quote should give you a better idea,
