My automatic Honda Civic was accidentally driven at freeway speeds on the lowest gear. It was driven at 6000-7000 RPM (borderline red zone) for 10-15 minutes. Does this translate into damage to the engine or transmission? Thanks for any help!

Not necessarily. As long as you have kept up with regularly scheduled maintenances (i.e. oil changes, filter replacements..) then you should be fine.
