My car dose not give a smooth acceleration, especially after stops, it dose not move. I have to press the gas realy hard, then it moves with a surge, and I aslo hear some exhaust sound (pop), sometimes in the front mostly in the rear.
I have changed my fuel filter, spark plugs and coils. Got an egine tune up at Midas. I also got the time belt and water pump changed (which was not done at reccommended 90k)

Hi sanjay117,

What you describe could be due to the trans.

If it is due to poor engine performance, you need to get the TPS checked. The popping noise could be misfiring due to the TPS.

Before the timing belt change, was the problem there? A out of sync timing belt will have a poor performing engne

Hi Bob and Ken
Thanks for your reply.
Yes the problem was there before the time belt change. Only improvement is that I have to press the gas a little less harder than before.

Hi sanjay117,

When did you last changed the ATF and is the level correct?

Overfilling or low level fluid can affect the performance.

You also need to check the trans throttle pressure cable for proper adjustment. It has to be synchronised with the accelerator cable.
