1997 Honda Civic Trouble Starting

I've never replaced the starter for this car but today when I went to start it, no luck. It sounds like the starter is doing something but it will not start. The battery is good and I have power but when I turn the ignition key the only thing that happens is you hear the starter try to start the car. The sound is like it's spinning freely. Any help would be appreciated.
