1996 Honda Civic SRS Light on

The SRS light came on in my 96 Honda Civic EX. I understand it has to do with the Air Bags, is there something simple I can check (like a fuse) just to make sure before I get a mechanic involed. The dealership wants $60 just to look at it!

You would need a scanner to diagnose what is causing the problem and maybe you can try your local Autozone or O'Reily's parts outlet. They do provide free scanning services.
