I recently purchases a 96 Honda Civic DX with automatic transmission. Soon after purchasing it I noticed that the car does not smoothly shift between 2 and 3. This is now a consistent problem. It takes an extra second to shift, revving the engine slightly as it shifts. All other gears are smooth, and it is only for that second there is a problem. Thanks so much for your time and such a great site. You guys rock!

Hi jamal2000,

Slipping during gear changes means the line pressure is low. Check the trans throttle cable, if it has too much slack, readjust it.

The other cause is a weak clutch, you need to rebulid the trans.
