I have a 1995 Honda Civic. When I accelerate, through 1-3 gear the car chugs (seems like it misses), es0ecially if I am hard on the accelerator. It smooths out in 4th and 5th. The problem is worse when the gas tank is at 1/2 or below.

Any ideas?

Check the fuel pressure might lead you to a problem with the fuel filter/pressure regulator/fuel pump-could also be the throttle position sensor.

Thanks for the advice; The problem is it only occurs when I throttle. Please xcuse my ignorance but is there a way to test the preassure when it is under throttle conditions?

Thanks

Hook up your pressure gauge to the fuel test port
