Hi. I have another problem that I just noticed with the civic I just bought. When I turn on the key and the idiot lights come on the "oil" light doesn't come on. Is it just a bulb or could something else cause it?

With the engine NOT running and the key ON, the oil light should be on. If not then check the bulb and replace it if necessary. This light is, without a dought, the most important warning light on your car! Be aware--this is a common trick to hide an oil pressure problem.

Plug on oil sending unit had come off. You would think that would make the light stay on but it didn't.

The light should be on if the sending unit is unplugged. The light must be burned out.

That's what we thought too but light comes on when the ignition switch is turned to on and goes out when car starts. So I guess all is well?
