Hi, I recently discovered, by a bad surprise that a cylinder wouldn't fire so... looking for the problem, found that there was formation of grey-green oxidation inside my distributor cap, a little everywhere (rotor, coil) but moslty on the pins that distribute the electricity to the wires. Cap and rotor are almost new, only a coupe of months. Not craked, good rubber seal, now brand new rotor... but still if i don't clean it after a couple of days, oxidation acumulates and mt cylinder keeps going on and off. I know there may be a little less compression on that one but when it's clean; it running great exept that now it idles low... Can you help me?! I live on the west coast and got to make it to the east coast in a month :S

You must clean all the corrosion off completely. It may be necessary to de-pin the connector to get everything out.

Once everything is cleaned and the connections are tight again everything should be fine. It may even be necessary to go to a junkyard and purchase a connector for your distributor if you are unable to clean it.
