My son recently bought a 1995 Honda Civic LX sedan with 56,000 km from a local dealer. After 3 weeks and 2500km he notice that the right side cv joint boot was split. Everything was still nice a smooth and it didnt look like the CV joint was warn at all. The dealers garage replace the repacked the joint and replaced the boot with a CV boot kit. They said that the cv joint looked okay.

Right away he notice that vibrations in the front end. The front vibrates when giving gas but disappears when you lift your foot off the gas. The dealer and garage said that cv joint looked good but after repacking with grease its now a lot tighter and so its vibrating. They now want to replace the front axle shaft to fix the problem at my sons cost.

I think they either damaged the cv joint or didnt put something back together correctly. Any ideas on what might be wrong?
