Air Conditioning problem

Im trying to install the belt back on the air condition compressor. The clutch froze and the belt burned off and I Already installed the compressor but for some reason I cant get the belt on due to a metal bracket that is bolted to the frame of the car and the other is holding the air compressor. Please dont tell me that I have to take all that off just to get the belt on?
