I have a 1995 honda civic coupe. It says on my hood that it is a 1.5 litre. I know it has another engine in it because people have told me and it has a d16y7 enscribed on the front of the engine. It is a d16y7, so where do I look to make sure it has the same ecu/computer as well? It could still have the original 1.5 litre ecu/computer in it, but I wouldn't know. I need to find out if it has the right ecu/computer because i'm going to get a horsepower chip, any suggestions?

You do not have the right ecu because the right ecu is OBD2, your vehicle is obd1. You will have to get your ECU chipped by a honda tuner (LOTS of them are out there) and ask them to put a d16y7 basemap on that chip.
