1994 Honda Civic Two Wheel Drive Manual 111000 miles

Hi guys!

Having a problem with my civic, I recently changed the idle air control valve as it was idling erratically. Now this problem is solved and is idling at 1000rpm.

having fixed that problem, I have now encountered another one, every time I go to change gear when braking (say for example approaching a junction or roundabout) the idle counter drops to just above 0, and the car nearly stalls, I have to quickly move my foot to the accelerator to stop it stalling and get the revs back up. On the odd occasion it also 'kangaroo jumps' when changing gears, or accelerating, but this isn't too bad and is controllable. The main problem is the big drop in idle speed when braking and changing gear.

I will take it in for a diagnostics, but obviously this costs money, so want to try every other avenue first!

This will be very hard to find.

First check for any loose connections and any trouble codes. You may have a loose wire or connector that is being wiggled around.

Another idea would be to drive over bumps with a fuel pressure gauge taped to the windshield. If fuel pressure drops when you go over a bump, you know it's a fuel supply issue.
