My 1994 civic blows white smoke out of the exaust but only when you give it gas. It dont blow the smoke when idling. What could this be.

At idle there is vapor but not as noticeable. When you accelerate the engine the water to the cylinder increases and the car is unable to burn the water off completely. The smoke indicates that the car is loosing coolant. I would wager your level of coolant drops. Not good news. I would have the engine head taken off and checked for warping and cracks. Then have a new head gasket put on.
