I have a Honda Civic (B16A2 engine) 1.6l dohc vtec and all of a sudden it developed a misfire when under load (when I am driving it in gear). When the car is idling in neutral the car is fine. It idles very well. It just seems like there is a starvation of fuel. The engine warning light is not illuminated. I changed the fuel filter as I thought it might be choked. However this had no effect. I can still hear the fuel pump whirring away so I don't think its that. I checked the compression and I'm getting 195-200 psi on cylinders 1-3 and 185 on cylinder 4. I took it to a mechanic and he says the electrics were all OK and that it might be a sticky valve. I'm a bit sceptical. I changed my bosch spark plugs for my older NGK sparks and the misfire was alot worse. Could it be the distributor, spark plugs or HT leads or the fuel pressure regulator that causes this or as the mechanic says sticky valves? Any ideas? Thanks
