i have a engine knock and wanted to know if that means that I need a new motor or is that something that can be fixed

Your best bet would be to have a mechanic listen to the knock to determine what the problem is. You may not need to replace your engine. For example, if it's a rapid ticking, it may just mean that you need a valve adjustment.
