Noises problem
1987 Honda Civic 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 147k miles

hello, i recently just got back from a trip to Montana and on my way back, i noticed the clutch peddle pretty much become weightless and i found myself forcing the shifter into gears. along with this happening, my steering wheel started making a grinding sound when i turned left and right, i don't know if these two things are connected or what. if any idea's at all, please feel free to write them down.

i checked the master cylinder and it was at appropriate level of fluid, the clutch is at its proper weight, but i'm still having to force my shifter into gear, and when doing so, it makes a really (metal on metal) sound from the bottom of the car.
