Well I have owned my car for approximately a year and 6 months and maybe 2 months ago there was this wierd grinding noise that would appear when the vehicle was in gear. the noise was heard most when the vehicle was moving at a slower rate. One day i was leaving the park and the transmission jus made a big clunking grinding noise and jus starts shaking whenever iput it in gear. I replaced the clutch and the release bearing and the pressure plate, but my shifter bushing is dead and my shift linkage appears to be loose( the car came like that). so now i have no idea what to do.. what is the first step[

Hi,

If the shift linkages are loose there are 3 areas where you need to look at.

1. Worn bushing at lower end of gear shift. Bushes should be available.

2. 2 joints at trans end if bushes worn you need to replace rod assy as no service parts.

3. Spring loaded pin for connecting shift rod to trans shift lever. Usually the end of the pin becomes worn and causes the shift rod holding hole to be enlarged thus there is too much free play.
