The transmission in my car has water in it and it slips gears ( when stopped at light it will rev when you press on the accelerator, than if you let go it will roll and finally take off). If i change the transmission fluid in the car will it fix this problem?

Yes but you have to replace on other item as well. AND don't drive the car until you fix it. Check the radiator to see if it has cooling lines to the tranny. I wager yes and the radiator is leaking in to the tranny fluid that is being cooled. If not, you had better check out how the water got in there.
