Dash lights dimming when headlights turned on.

I have an 02 Honda Accord SE, 4 cyl v-tec with 75000 miles on it. Just noticed this morning that when I turn on my headlights the dash lights get very dim. Have had no problems starting the car, she cranks right up, but the "maintenance required" light has come on as well. Is this a problem with the switch or something more serious? Thanks.

Has someone turned the dimmer control for the lights? The maintenance required light is something that you can reset. It is kind of like an alarm clock. Resetting instructions are in the owners manual.

There is no dimmer control, it adjusts automatically. The problem only occurs when I turn on the headlights. I just found out that it may be my battery, water may be low, or cell is starting to die.
