90 honda accord speedometer probs

I HAVE A 90 HONDA ACCORD THAT IS EXPERIENCING SPEEDOMETER PROBLEMS (ESPIALLY IN THE RAIN) THAT THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK...HOWEVER, IT DOES USUALLY WORK AFTER THE CAR WARMS UP...I HAVE CRUISE CONTROL...ANY SUGGESTIONS?

The connector on the speed sensor off the transmission, it is possible that the connectors need to be cleaned and that the connection does not seal out the elements. I don't know if there is a small o ring on that connector or if some terminal gel is needed.

The speedometer cable could be going bad.

It’s an easy fix...
You can buy a new cable from the Honda dealer. Cable only. No cover.
Disconnect it from the transmission side. (Small bolt holding it in) pull out the old cable while lightly turning it. Thread in the new cable turning it clockwise while you push it in (don’t force it) and re-attach it to the transmission.
You don't have to take the dash apart or change the whole thing with the cover.
The cable comes greased but you can add some bearing grease to the cable.
