The problem I am having is that my car will be driving smoothly and then all of a sudden the rpms will go up but the the car will not accelarate. It does not matter how much I step on the accelator. I usually have to take my foot off the accelator and then it step on it again and it will start driving smoothly again. The frequency of this is increasing. I took it to one shop and the mechanic told me he could not get the car to do it while he was driving it.

Hello,

Check transmission fluid...

What color is it? If it is Brownish in color and smells burnt then try a transmission fluid and filter change.

Also is check engine light on? If so have codes pulled and post here.
