Electrical problem
2003 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 69.900 miles

The dashboard center stack lights are not working (radio, clock, HVAC). However, the systems themselves do work. I cannot find a fuse to control these lights, and all fuses that I checked were intact.

Thoughts?

Hi zoomer103,

Thank you for the donation.

The control panel backlights uses the same fuse as the lights and you problem should be due to burnt bulbs in the control panel. You would need to remove the control panle to replace the illumination light bulbs.

Can you clarify - are we discussing the center stack, the dashboard, or something else? I'm pretty mechanically inclined - should I tackle this?

Do you recommend a manual to figure this out?

I hope we are referring to the same item. :)

Do you mean the control panel for the HVAC? The control panel has some bulbs plugged into it for illumnations and they tend to burn out over time.

As you are mechanically inclined, it should not be a problem get the job done yourself.

I will send a pdf file to your email for the diagnostics and repair procedures.

Hi - Thanks for your recent e-mail. The malfunctioning lights are for the radio/clock and all of the HVAC controls. The pdf that you sent looks to explain how to remove the radio. There appears to be a first step to that however. Do I have to remove the side panels of the center console? How do I get access to all of the screws that must be removed to then remove the radio and get access to the light bulbs?

Do you think there's a manual for the car available at retail that I should purchase?

I do not think you would be able to find any repair manual for such repairs.

I would like to apologise for missing out on the file for the removal procedures and will be sending them to you.
