I am the 2nd. owner of this car. So I am not sure of past maintnence. I have myself put about 10,000 miles on it with no problem. Last 2 weeks sometimes the car would just stop going like the transmission was slipping out of gear. I check the fluid & it shows to be over full. I drain the fluid. No metal on the plug, but I get 5 quarts out. I put in 3 quarts of Honda ATF. Start car & let warm up. Now car will only go into reverse & 1st & is very week. I check fluid level & it shows to be over full by quite a bit. I feel like the pump is not picking up. Is there something else that can be done short of changing out the transmission?

Hi there,

I would get a transmission specialist to test and report for you, there will be a problem internally, but it may be cheaper to fix it rather than getting a new transmission, try this first.
