The car won't start due to a dead battery. After a jump start the engine runs normal for several minutes. Then the engine maitainenance light comes on along with tha ABS light and all gauges (speedometer/tachometer /transmission gear indicator light) go dead momentarily and the engine run sluggish. If I put the transmission in nuetral and rev the rpm up I can keep it from stalling. Then all of a sudden all gauges come back on and the engine runs fine. When I shut the car off and try to re-start it again it is completely dead. Several weeks ago before this problem occured I noticed quite a bit of corrosion on the battery terminals and I disconnected them and cleaned the up. Now with this problem I am under the hood again and I see corrosion is starting on the terminals again. The battery is 2 years old so I am guessing this is an alternator?
