The Alternator bottom support screw has broken twice in the last few months since i last replaced my alternator. This time the bolt broke inside the engine block. now there is nothing for me to grab the screw to take it out. am i going to have to pull out the engine, or replace the block. what can i possibly do to get that piece of screw out to put in another one

Hi there,

you can use what is called an easy-out, although it maybe sold by a different name there, you drill a small hole in the broken bolt and this stud remover knocks in and grips enough to undo the broken stud, your spare parts supplier or auto tool seller will know about this tool.
