The problem I am having is that after driving my car for about 2 minutes, the inside temp gauge will go from cold to hot. However, the car does not overheat. If I have the a/c on, the air goes from cold to warm once the hand gets on "H". Then it will go back to "c" and continues to do this while I'm driving. This has been going on for about a month now. Any ideas?

Hi pmorr,

It takes about 20 mins for the engine to warm up to make the fans work so 2 mins should not be an overheating problem.

However the erractic reading could be due to air pockets at the thermostat and sending sensor. Is the coolant level at the radiator ok?

The engine temp reading can affect the operations of the AC so it could possibly be a poor ground resulting in erractic reading.
