1999 Honda Accord Does not go in Parking gear

Hello,
About a week back, ny honda accord refuses to go in the parking gear. so now when i need to park, i have to get it in nuetral with the hand brake completely pulled up and have few stones set so it does not roll over. The car runs just fine with no trouble.

can you please let me know what can be the potential trouble.
