I have a 1999 Honda Accord EX 4-door sedan and there is a cracking type noise coming from the left font side of the car. This happens when the car goes over uneven pavement or bumps in the road surface. It seems to be most noticeable from start off to around 20 or so mph. But it could be there at higher speeds and I just don't notice it as much. I am wondering if this could possibly be something such as a bad/worn strut. I purchased this car new and it has the original struts. Thanks for any suggestions. Dave

Do you notice the sound when making a corner? Such as pulling a u turn? Might be a CV. Take a gander at the CV boots and if they are cracked open replace the axle.

In the mean time, I have identified and corrected the problem. It was a leaking/worn left front strut.

Thanks for your reply Bruce!
