Blinking warning lights, discharged battery, dying engine. I'm suspecting a bad alternator, or voltage regulator.

1. How can one tell a bad alternator from a bad regulator without removing the alternator and having it tested?

2. Where is the voltage regulator located on the 99 Accord V-6?

Thanks

The voltage regulator is inside the alternator.

Honestly, rebuild kits for alternators are hard to come by, I would just replace the whole unit with a new or rebuilt one.
