I have a 1999 Honda Accord. When I turn the air conditioning on it doesn't usually come on immediately. After a while of driving the ac will usually finally come on. Sometimes it will still cut out some when it feels like it and then come back on. The ac lights go on and off whenever the ac does. So the upshot of it is that the ac blows cold when it decides to come on, but I never know when that's going to be. I took the whole console apart all the way down to the circuit board and secured all the connections thinking it must be a wiring issue in the console; it didn't help at all though.

Hi timbogeorge,

Most likely the blower fan motor is bad.

When problem occurs, give the blower mjotor housing under the glove box some banging with your hands. If motor starts up, it is time to be replaced. The carbon brushes are running out.
