My car started stopping and ideling high a few weeks ago. I went and had a full tune up done including distributo cap and it was still stopping when the mechanic test drove the car. They went ahead and ran a diagnostic free of charge and determined that my Disributor needed to be replaced. I had a new distributor put in the car. I also had an alinment and 4 new tires put on the car and it was running great for almost 2 weeks. It started shutting off again last night either when I am ideling or when I accell the car sometimes it just shuts off other times it will just flash the dash lights like it trying to shut off and it will keep going. I have already spent close to 2k to fix my car and hav eno idea what else could be wrong. It is doing the same thing as it was when the distributor was bad. Could it be that the distributor is bad again as it was bought from Autozone as a rebuillt? Would it go bad in just two weeks? Or would it be something else? I would really really appriciate an answer...Thank you

Well first you have to run a diagnostic. It may be possible that the distributor is faulty.

Check and retrieve any DTC's as this will lead you in the right direction.

Another possibility would be: ignition switch, distributor wiring, a charging system issue (if the battery is dead after it stalls), etc.
