We bought this car for our son and since we got it the gas gauge doesnt register. It stays on E. When you start the car it goes up a little bit pass E then back down and stays there. We have checked the OHM meter and it registered normal. We replaced the gauge cluster in the dash and it didnt work either. (we returned that part) We cant seem to find a fuse. Is there one? Where is it? Of course that would be too simple. Any ideas before we spend hundreds on taking it to a dealer? Thanks!

Hi,

Since the gauge does move but not accurate, then you need to look at the sender unit in the fuel tank.

In the rear boot you will see 2 service holes, the right one is where the sender unit is located.

There is a 3 wire connector, 1 is for the guel gauge, another is the fuel low warning lamp and 1 for the earth.

Short the fuel gauge wire to earth and the gauge should regiater full tank meaning the sending unit is faulty.
