Trans shudder from 3rd to 4th when going uphill slightly, seems to be have to let off gas.

I was hoping there might be some remedy for this other than a rebuild. I don't drive far to work, so in one spot where it might shudder I move it to D3 when turning slowly. It's tolerable, but has anybody else ever seen this? If so, what did you do to fix it?

Thanks alot for your help!

Hi rellimc2,

Suddering when upshifting means the trans is on its way out or clutch pressure is insufficient.

Try replacing the ATF and adjusting the trans throttle cable.

If the shuddering is after the clutch is fully engaged, check for worn inner CV joints.
