I'd like to replace the air filter on my 1997 Honda Accord.

However, the front part of the air filter housing is blocked by a plastic exhaust that appears to fit into a pipe.

This plastic piece must be removed so I can remove the air filter housing cover, but I see no way to remove the piece other than to yank it out.

What's the safe and correct way to remove this plastic piece?

Thanks.

Hi slobjones,

It is plugged in and if you tug at it, it would come off.

Thanks for that.

I was able to remove the plastic piece, with a little wiggling.

Had to move the battery out of the way as well, but after that, I was able to get to the air filter.
