I'm having a problem with my 1997 Honda Accord while driving. When I am going between 35 to 40 this loud rattling and humming noise comes, and its only when I press on the gas. I've experimented by putting my car into D3 and it doesn't make the sound. Its got me stumped and even my local shop. They've tried to look for gravel that may have been in the muffler and also changed the catalytic converter thinking that would solve the problem as well. Any help at figuring this out would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

First you must determine if it is a driveline (transmission) or suspension fault (wheel bearings, tires).

If you say when you change it to D3 it stops making the sound, it'd send it to a transmission shop and let them listen to the noise.
