This morning I filled up with gas and reset my trip odometer to get a good gauge of mileage as I just purchased this car two weeks ago. I noticed on the freeway that not only was the trip odometer not turning neither was the actual odometer. However, the speedometer works just fine. I thought they were both on a cable that goes to the transmission so if they both should fail at the same time. Any suggestions on what I can do?

Hello,

The odometer and the speedometer both runs from the signal provided by the vehicle speed sensor in the transmission.
Since the speedometer is working it is likely that the issue is with the odometer part of the gauge cluster. The gears that turns the odometer could be loose or broken. Or could be a issue with the harness that powers the odometer gears.

I have attached the diagnostics procedure for your reference.
