When the engine reahes 2000rpm it starts to make the sound of pieces of metal rubbing on each other and then it stops once it reaches 2250rpm. This is a new engine that was recently swaped and it had 40k miles on it and it looked brand new. Also when idling, it sounds like a diesel engine. Any idea what causes this?

Hi armindk,

The rubbing noise and symptom sounds like the EGR valve solenoid clicking. Unplug the EGR vacumn and test if the problem is still there.

Loud noise could be due to improper tensioning of the timing belt or valve clearance.
