My car makes a clicking noise when I turn left and a little noise sometimes when I turn right. I thought it was the axle and I took it to a mechaninc who said the boots did not have any grease on them so it was not the axle. Do you have any suggetions as to what else it could be?

Just becuase the boot is not spit, does not mean it's not the axle...it should be tested while in the air...P.S. Any mechanic who has heard a bad CV joint could drive it and confirm if it's the axle!
