I have a 97 accord with 138K mileswith the original timing belt - I started up my car like normal, then right away(seconds) it acted as if it ran out of gas and turned off on me. the car will turn over. the car has gas, i'm not sure that to troubleshoot - like i read earlier - put a screwdriver in the sparkplug wire ( i'm afraid of being shocked)
i'm thinking its the timingbelt. if you think thats it....will it hurt cranking the engine, and will the engine be ok the way the belt might have broken. i've heard if the belt breaks while driving the car, it wil mess up the engine.
