Hi, I just had timing belt, water pump and the crank sensor replaced on my car by a mechanic. since then, the engine sound is changed and when you are sitting behind the wheel, I can feel the vibration in my hands. the mechanic, who is also my friend, tells me that the engine mounts need to be replaced. any ideas what causing the extra vibration? thanks

Hi there,

One of the engine mounts is removed to do the timing belt job, now if the engine was left hanging on the other mounts with out support they may have been damaged, also the removed engine mount may not be settled or is loose. To check he will have to back off engine mount bolts (if they are tight) drive the car a short distance forward and reverse, turn off and tighten mounts. Have this checked first.
