1995 Honda Accord ex

When driving home the other day, noticed engine temp was very high and oil light came on. I have a small oil leak so I put in a few quarts. Thought that might be the problem but it still came close to overheating today. Should I have my coolant sysytem flushed? What would you suggest?

Check the coolant level and fill as necessary. If the temp still elevates, I would replace the thermostat before I jumped at a flush of the system.
