engine wont turn over with key - no starter operation

my friend has a 1995 honda accord he put his battery in and hooked up the cable backward. im working on it for him he heard a pop and turned off the key i replaced all the fuses under the hood we got all the lights to work on the dash. but when i turn the key the engine does nothing do i need to change the ecu or the ignition moudle . if i need to change the moudle where is it located any input is very usefull thank you

Are the dash lights showing when ignition key is turned to ON? Should not be ECM. Did you check the ground wires? This guide can help us fix it

the dash lights did not work at first i had to replace the two 40 amp fuses the 50 amp fuse and the 80 amp fuse after i replaced them i get the dash lights and the turn signle so on so forth. everything lights up on the dash but the car still not turning over i was told it could be the ignition moudle is fried but i dont know the location of the module

Therre are no starting module for the starter. If you have not tested the starter, disconnect the solenoid wire and apply battery voltage to it with a remote wire. If starter works, check the starter relay. If equipped with security system, close all doors and use key to lock and unlock to deactivate the system.
