My car starts one day and doesn't start the next! We checked my fuel pump and it was fine. We replaced the main relay and the car started, was good for one drive and thats it! The distributor is catching fire. We checked all the fuses which are fine as well. I brought my car to a "mechanic" and he swore that it was the fuel pump even when we told him my original one was fine! He changed out the parts and put another relay and my car still won't start. Some times the fuel pump will turn on and other times it doesn't. We thought maybe it was the temperature sensor being it was having problems starting when it was really hot out so we changed that out. The car started few times and wouldn't start again. We are figuring there may be a wire somewhere that isn't sending signal to the fuel pump. So we basically ruled out the distributor, the fuel pump, the relay, and the temperature sensor. From my understanding the ignition coil is fine. What else could it possibly be?

Everytime you turn the key to the RUN position you will hear the fuel pump, if you don't you have a fuel pump circuit issue. It could be the ignition switch, or wiring (since you ruled out the pump and relay)
