My car has started to miss (choking up), I put it in reverse and was in reverse for about a minute or so it was acting like it was about to shut off...as I pulled out it just kept missing. I noticed more films from the exhaust were coming out as well. When I sit at the light it jerks like it's about to cut off. This morning it started up fine, after about 5 minute it started again this time it smelled really bad in the car and the smoke from the exhaust was very heavy. Could someone please tell me what this could be. I just had the battery check on the 14th of Feb. I'm not sure if this as anything to do with the recent weather change in our area...TN hasn't had snow and temps this low since 2003. Thank for the help....

Hi qnashia,

Seems a cylinder is misfiring and you should check the spark plugs, wires, distributor rotor and cap.

The smoke, if grey in color, could mean a fouled plug due to excessive oil getting into the cylinders.
