Engine Mechanical problem
1995 Honda Accord 4 cyl 200000 miles

I was driving at 65 mph, I heard what sounded like a hissing noise and my car stopped running. Lights, etc. still worked. When I got out of the car there was water running down the street. I took the radiator cap off and there was no water in the radiator. The car will not turn over. If my water pump went out, why will my engin not start. Or am I wrong to assume my water pump went out?

Why do you think the waterpump failed?

Put some water/anti-freeze in there, fire it up and look for leaks. If its leaking that bad you definately shouldnt have a problem finding the leak.

FYi the water pump is underneath the timing covers on your vehicle.

I am replying to your answer email. I can't put anti freeze in the radiator and fire it up, because the care does not start.

While driving @ 65 mph I heard a noise and the car totally SHUT DOWN WITH NO POWER AT ALL except the lights, and accessories. When I tried to turn the car back on it will not start.
