The car makes a whining, squeling noice that is pretty loud. Checked the belts and it's not it. You can definately tell when the car is on because it is so loud. What could be causing it? When we first bought it in October, it didn't make that noise and then it started in November. It seems to be getting worse.

Hi there,

it may be a timing belt pulley, a water pump or alternator bearing or the power steering pump, i would remove the external belts and run engine if noise is still there it will be in the timing bets pulleys, if not re place and run one belt at a time to locate noise.
